I've been sitting on this domain for 2+ years now. When I first registered it I had ambitions to turn it into a nice little technical blog that I could use as an excuse to write a static site generator. And to experiment with writing, and to show off personal projects. And whatever else having a blog entails. But ever since it has done little more than collect dust.
I intend to correct that.
Instead of writing a bespoke shell script templating engine, I've decided to use vimwiki. It's minimal enough for what I'm looking for and I have used it previously for notes. I have not yet tested its html related features but I doubt they will pose a problem.
As of writing this I haven't started working on the style, but I'm not going to go to crazy on that until I have a little bit of content. I'm probably just going to fiddle a little bit with vimwikis defaults, and maybe copy some css from one of my old attempts.
I have a lot of personal stipulations regarding new content but here is just a couple of important ones:
I could fill a couple books with why I'm choosing to emphasise those two but without them I think this will be the last post ever on this site.
You may also expect to see notes on various subjects here. I'm toying with archiving some of my notes publicly. Maybe more on this later. Maybe.
That's it. The rest of this page is just for me. Thanks for giving my site a look.
This time I should focus on actually producing completed texts instead of fixating on quality, length or depth. There are plenty of interesting blogs that are not filled with book length essays.
I'm free to make factual errors or mistakes. I can always correct things later. It's better if people know I'm an idiot than to be unsure.
I'm allowed to write flippantly. It's my website.
Sometimes it's okay to just start a thought and let someone else bring it to completion.
